Ross Nugent
Ross Nugent is a Pittsburgh-based moving-image artist creating experimental, observational documentary and expanded cinema works. He earned an MFA in film production from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a BA in film studies from the University of Pittsburgh. Ross has over 20 years of experience in media education and exhibition, having served as assistant professor at Thiel College (Greenville, Pa.) and adjunct faculty at Pittsburgh Filmmakers, University of Maryland University College, and UW-Milwaukee. His involvement in film and video exhibition includes management positions at the Lindsay Theater and Cultural Center (Sewickley, Pa.), Union Cinema (Milwaukee), and Pittsburgh Filmmakers. Ross is a technical director for the biennial exhibition of expanded cinema presented by MONO NO AWARE, a Brooklyn-based nonprofit cinema arts organization, and for Sync’d (Pgh), which pairs audio and visual artists for live performances. He is currently employed as facilities and operations manager for the College of Fine Arts at Carnegie Mellon University.
